Genesee County is located southwest of the city of Rochester in the western part of New York State. The county seat is Batavia. The population, according to the 2010 census, is 60,079. A part of the Conservation Trail travels through the county. The orange blazed Conservation Trail is part of the 900+ mile Finger Lakes Trail System.
