Lake Durant State Campground is located east of the hamlet of Blue Mountain Lake in the Central Adirondacks. The campground is located on scenic Lake Durant with Blue Mountain in the distance. The famous Northville-Placid Trail travels through the campground. There are hiking opportunities available in the campground as well as many other in the area. There are 61 campsites available as well as a day use area that includes a beach as well as a picnic area.

The campground is located on NY 28 east of Blue Mountain Lake. The most popular hiking destination from Lake Durant Campground is a hike to Stephens Pond along the Northville-Placid Trail. The trailhead is located within the campground, near campsite #3. Some also make the side trip to Cascade Pond as well. Another popular hike is the fire tower on Blue Mountain. We also recommend hiking Castle Rock. It's a short hike with a nice view of Blue Mountain Lake. Other great hikes in the area include Sawyer Mountain and Rock Lake.

DEC campgrounds accept the Empire Passport for those who want to enter to use the day use facilities. It's not just for state parks! To get more info on this campground including reservations see the NY DEC Website.
