The 63 foot Lyons Falls in located on the Black River in the small hamlet of Lyons Falls.  This is one of the most popular waterfalls in Lewis County and probably the easiest to see. A power plant was constructed just above the falls, however the falls are still impressive even with all the industrial scenes that surround it. Some of the buildings have gone into serious state of disrepair.

The Moose River joins the Black River just before the dam & falls. We suggest you also make the short trip to see Agers Falls on the Moose River.

Directions: From Lyons Falls, take County Route 39 across the Black River. Turn left on Lyons Falls Road, cross the Moose River and head down the hill. Turn left onto the boat launch parking area. There are a couple of paths you can follow down to the river edge. The GPS coordinates of the parking area is N43 37.267 W75 21.458 for those who have a GPS devise. There is another parking area above the falls for boat launch.
