Camping in Adirondack Park Northeastern Adirondacks Buck Pond
|

The remote Buck Pond Campground offers visitors secluded campsites and a nice sandy beach on Buck Pond. There is a pleasant hiking trail along an old railroad bed that is popular with both campers and day use visitors. This campground is located 12 miles east of Paul Smiths off County Route 30 and north of Saranac Lake. Boaters can enjoy Buck Pond, Lake Kushaqua and the Kushaqua Narrows located along the campground. There are 116 campsites available.
The most popular hiking destination from Buck Pond Campground is a hike to the fire tower on St Regis Mountain as well as the trails at the Adirondack VIC at Paul Smith's. We suggest checking out the Fire Tower on Loon Lake Mountain. The trail to the fire tower was recently reopened in the fall of 2013. DEC campgrounds accept the Empire Passport for those who want to enter to use the day use facilities. It's not just for state parks! To get more info on this campground including reservations see the NY DEC Website.
