Hiking in Schuyler County Catharine Creek WMA
The Catharine Creek Wildlife Management Area is located at the southern end of Seneca Lake, between Watkins Glen and Montour Falls in Schuyler County. The WMA is popular with birders and there are hiking trails located in the WMA including a section of the Queen Catharine Marsh Loop Trail. The QCMLT is part of the nearly 1000 mile Finger Lakes Trail System.
Camping is not allowed on the Wildlife Management Area but a number of public campgrounds are located immediately adjacent to the area, as well as primitive camping available at Sugar Hill State Forest located west of Watkins Glen and at Finger Lakes National Forest located east of Watkins Glen. The primitive camping is FREE. There is a picture and a couple of maps below.
