This 17.5 mile section of the North Country Trail features the beautiful Minister Creek and the Minister Creek Trail.  You'll find a nice primitive campsite near the scenic creek just prior to the second junction with the Minister Creek Trail.  This area with the primitive campsite is also known as Triple Fork Camp.

Utilizing the NCT and the MCT creates a real nice 6.6 mile loop hike for those camping at Minister Creek Recreational Area.  The NCT ascends away from the camp following one of the forks of Minister Creek.  Your actually walking along an old railroad grade, one of many in this area.  The trail briefly follows Forest Road 429 and then meanders toward Forest Road 116.  This area is called Dunham Siding and was once a thriving logging community.

Campsite near Minister Creek

At the parking area near Forest Road 116 the NCT reaches the eastern terminus of the Tanbark Trail.  The Tanbark Trail leads toward the Hearts Content Recreational Area.  This is the closest the NCT comes to the Hearts Content Recreational Area.  The NCT follows another old railroad grade as the trail heads toward Coalbed Run.  There is a campsite near the trail.

The trail briefly follows Beaver Run and then turns near a fork, where there is another campsite near the trail.  There is some parking where the trail crosses Forest Road 449.  The trail crosses East Fork Run after a steep descent, then follows the stream and crosses Balltown Road.  The trail continues to descend as it follows Fork Run before finally crossing it just prior to reaching PA 666 and the end of this section.

Minister Creek along the Minister Creek Trail

The trail follows PA 666 to Tionesta Creek, where the trail crosses along Branch Bridge Road.  A US Army Corps of Engineers Campground is located along the creek just after crossing the bridge.  The Kellettville Campground is usually open from April to October with a $10 camping fee, however the campground remains open until December and offers FREE camping during that time.

NOTE: There was suppose to be a reroute of the section near PA 666 in the summer of 2010.  Follow the blue blazes/diamonds.
