New York State Parks Hamlin Beach
|
Hamlin Beach State Park features a sandy beach, 264 campsites, views of Lake Ontario plus 10 miles of hiking and biking trails, as well as snowmobile and cross-country skiing trails. The Yanty Creek Marsh area at the east end of the park has a mile long self-guided nature trail.
The Shoreline Trail is a paved trail that runs along the lake east to west, passing by the beaches. It's a great path for biking or hiking. There are several other small trails within the campgrounds and other wooded areas.
Camping is usually available from mid May to mid October. You'll find spacious campsites, separated from your neighbors by woods.
Directions: West of the Rochester area, use the Lake Ontario State Parkway to the Hamlin Beach State Park exit.
