This 4.9 mile loop hike is located in the northern section of Finger Lakes National Forest, within Seneca County. This loop hike utilizes the No-Tan-Takto Trail and Interloken Trail to create a pleasant loop hike featuring pastures, forest and views in a part of the National Forest that doesn't get the same traffic as the Burnt Hill area. There is an overall elevation gain of just under 250 feet for the easy to moderate loop hike that can enjoyed by most of your family.

The trailhead parking area is located along paved Parmenter Road. The GPS coordinates are N42 34.326 W76 47.652. For best directions, plug in the GPS coordinates into Google Maps from your location. The northern terminus of the Interloken Trail and No-Tan-Takto Trail is located at this parking area. There is room for about six vehicles at the parking area.

Start your hike by taking the No-Tan-Takto Trail into the woods. This is the trail on the left at the parking area. You will be returning from the trail on the right, which is the Interloken Trail. You are hiking along what is known as Butcher Hill. At 1.1 miles reach Townsend Road and turn right, following the dirt road. At 1.5 miles turn left off the road. At 2.6 miles reach the gate near dirt Seneca Road and the junction of the Interloken Trail. There is a parking area for about 10 vehicles across the road. At the pasture gate near the dirt Seneca Road you will turn right before reaching the gate and start following the Interloken Trail along an old road in a pasture. There is a view from the pasture, known as the Horton Pasture. At 3.0 miles pass through another gate. At 3.25 miles the Interloken Trail turns right off the old road. At 3.6 miles cross the dirt Townsend Road. At 4.9 miles reach the parking area on Parmenter Road and the end of this loop hike. Look below for a few pictures (coming soon) and a map of this hike.
